Wind the clock back to September 2017’ and I was visiting the beautiful country of Slovenia for the first time. We’d met up with a local landscape photographer who very kindly guided us to some of his favourite autumn photography locations including this stunning scene located high up in alps on the border of Slovenia & Italy. As the sun began to set this gorgeous scene revealed itself. I captured this image on a zoom lens purposely to bring the layers forward in a wide scene. An image that required little editing as I just let the layers and light speak for themselves and take you on a journey of contrast, mystery and light. An old belief amongst experienced landscape photographers says, “Let a highlight be a highlight and a shadow be a shadow”. This will make for a very classy modern art print with plenty of contrast and light to catch the viewers attention.
