Meet Brett & Lisa

We're Brett Wood and Lisa Milne, the two guides behind every Brett Wood Photos tour, and we run every one of them together, in person — which means a guide-to-client ratio that never exceeds 4:1, and on some of our smaller tours runs as tight as 3:1. What matters to us is honesty, patience, and making sure everyone in the group, whether it's their first workshop or their fourth, comes away having actually learned something, not just collected a few nice shots.

The Difference -

Between us, we've spent decades doing this — not just out shooting, but building an intimate knowledge of the locations we take you to: the weather patterns, the seasons, the conditions that turn an average shot into something extraordinary. That kind of knowledge can't be shortcut — it's what makes every tour so well planned, built by people who genuinely know the ground at an intimate level.

We hold this business, this website, every tour, and every edited image to the same professional standard. Brett's photography has been recognised with several international awards, and we hold our own images — and what we teach you to create — to that same bar.

The rest comes down to the details a lot of people don't think to ask about until they're already on tour. Transport is modern, comfortable mini-coaches. Accommodation is always well-appointed. And because we think good food matters as much as good light, we go out of our way to find the best restaurants, the best coffee, and the best meals wherever we are.

Between us, we also bring years of photo-editing experience across Lightroom, Photoshop, and Camera Raw, so what we teach doesn't stop at the captured image.

Meet Brett

Brett Wood is a landscape photographer with over 20 years of photographing Australia, New Zealand, and beyond — before this, he spent years in sales and operations in the construction equipment industry. Originally from Wagga Wagga, NSW, he's now based on the NSW South Coast, with New Zealand's South Island as what he calls his "spiritual home." He calls his style "Photo Art" — capturing a scene as authentically as his eyes perceive it, rather than chasing a heavily processed look. Guiding and teaching are, by his own account, his biggest passion in the work. Outside of photography: fishing, food, family, travel, and his dog Twizel.

Meet Lisa

Lisa Milne is a landscape photographer based on the NSW South Coast, with over two decades of photography experience — she spent much of her career as a professional portrait and wedding photographer before moving into landscapes. For the past 5 years, she's partnered with Brett, running small-group landscape photography workshops across Australia, New Zealand, and beyond, with a particular focus on colour theory and composition. Lisa also runs her own site and portfolio, The Pink Beanie — the name's a nod to her beanie collection, picked up on her travels (48 and counting, pink being the favourite).

Lisa is a brand ambassador for NiSi Filters (Australia & New Zealand), Summit Creative camera backpacks, and LeoFoto tripods — the same three brands as Brett.
